
Suzanne Pleshette, born 31 January 1937, who died 19 January 2008 was an American film, television, theatre and voice actress. Pleshette began her theatre career and appeared in films during the late 1950s. Then, she became an important actor in films like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (633) and Spirited Away (11). She also appeared in numerous television shows, usually in guest roles. She also she was Emily Hartley on The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 to 1978, and received several Emmy Award nominations for her work. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan),[1] and Eugene Pleshette, was born on January 31, 1937, in Brooklyn Heights. Her parents were Jewish immigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary. Her mother was a dancer, artist and choreographer, who performed under the stage name Geraldine Rivers. Her father was a stage manager in both the Paramount Theater as well as the Paramount Theater in Manhattan.
